I Am the Light of the World Foundation

The I Am the Light of the World Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation organized to build faith in Jesus Christ.  It was founded in 2003 by sculptor Angela Johnson with the vision to build the Light of the World Garden. The Foundation is currently run by CEO, Mark L. Nelson, and governed by three board members (Marilyn Victor, Ruth Simmoneau, and Jessica Farnsworth). We look forward to continuing our mission by building more Gardens and other projects throughout the world. Please contact us for information about (and suggestions for) future projects.

Angela Johnson

Angela Johnson’s creative vision that became The Light of the World sculptures has its roots in her deep Christian faith. As a self-taught sculptor she came to the world of sculpting through a remarkable experience that changed her life. Her driving force and obsession is to create works of art that invite others to ponder Jesus Christ, His miracles, and His teachings as the Son of God—the Savior of Mankind. This is a rejoicing of the holy scripture that states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God … And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:1,14). The visitors to this Christian Garden will have the opportunity to witness a labor of love, a gift of love not only from Angela but from the many wonderful people who have supported her vision.

Thanksgiving Point Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit garden, farm, and museum complex that draws upon the natural world to cultivate transformative family learning. The 55-acre Ashton Gardens provide a beautiful, protected environment for the Light of the World Garden.
